Philosophy
Every child deserves to feel capable and confident as both a reader and a writer. Children don't learn in isolation; their environment, relationships, and everyday experiences shape how they grow. So, we look at the whole picture together — because setting kids up for success is our job as adults, not something they should have to figure out on their own.
We partner with parents and schools to build a full picture of each child - their strengths, their environment, and what’s really getting in the way. When the adults in a child's life are working together, that support adds up to real, lasting progress.
From assessment to instruction to support at home, every part of the process is designed with your child in mind.
1:1 Literacy Sessions
Using a structured and multi-sensory Orton-Gillingham approach, each in-person or online session is tailored to your child’s needs and interests to build strong, lasting reading and writing skills K-12. Along the way, we focus on growing confidence, self-advocacy, and a positive sense of themselves as a learner.
Literacy Assessment
We use Level B assessment data, school documentation, parent input, and other relevant testing to build a clear, well-rounded picture of your child’s reading and writing strengths and areas for growth. This valuable starting point ensures an insightful plan is made going forward and progress can be celebrated.
Parent Consultation
Not sure how to support your child’s literacy at home, or how to navigate an Individual Education Plan (IEP)? We can walk through strategies to help you collaborate with your child’s school on goals and accommodations. If you like, your child can join too; we’ll create a child-friendly version of their IEP so they can be part of and understand their own plan.
